A Ski Bum in Search of Snow

I came back to the US from New Zealand (where it was summer) with high hopes for two months of great skiing. For me, great skiing means lots of fresh powder snow. Instead I got the second-best type of skiing—blue skies and corn snow. (For my non-skiing readers, corn snow is when the temperature is warm enough to make the snow soft, even if it isn’t new.)
