I woke up at 3 AM last night and it took a long time before I fell back to sleep. This used to be a regular pattern for me—back when I was working in the corporate world. I’d wake up with the pistons of my brain firing, usually on some work-related issue, sometimes about things I could control and other times, things I could only worry about. But it happens rarely now that I have my new life of traveling, writing, and waking up whenever I want to. Now my biggest worry might be whether I can hike to the top of a mountain and get back down before the afternoon thunderstorms. (more…)
