Northern Lights #2

After my attempt to see the Northern Lights in Sweden in December, I concluded that I hadn’t scratched the itch to really experience the aurora borealis. So in late February, I traveled to Chena Hot Springs, 60 miles north of Fairbanks, Alaska, to try again. I refused to get excited beforehand, knowing that I could stand outside in sub-zero temperatures for hours, searching the sky for something that wasn’t there. Also, I would only have 3 nights to get lucky, half of what I had when above the Arctic Circle in Sweden. (more…)
